Surgery

At Healthy Pets of Rome Hilliard we are equipped to perform a wide range of surgical procedures from minor laceration repairs to major orthopedic surgeries.

We believe that any surgical procedure, however minor, warrants high level patient monitoring and pain control. We have a registered veterinary technician monitoring your pet before, during, and after any surgical or sedated procedure. We also use a variety of devices including pulse oximeter and ECG machines to monitor your pet while under anesthesia and while recovering.

All of our surgeons practice sterile surgical techniques and are gloved, masked, and fully gowned during surgical procedures. We also use sterilized surgical instruments and prep our patients before surgeries to minimize post-operative infection rates.

In addition to spays and neuters, we also perform more complex soft tissue and orthopedic surgical procedures. Specifically, Dr. Kelleher is trained to perform tibial tuberosity advancement (TTA) procedures, which is a technique to surgically correct a torn cranial cruciate ligament in dogs. We encourage setting up a surgical consult appointment for any surgical inquiries in order to better assess your pet and provide you with an estimate.
