Due to the increased service issues with outside online pharmacies, Healthy Pets of Rome Hilliard will no longer accept or approve prescription requests from outside online pharmacies.  This includes but not limited to Chewy, 1-800-PetMeds, Amazon, Express Scripts, etc.   

 

Your pet’s veterinarian will provide a written prescription on request, provided we have recently examined your pet and the particular medication/product is appropriate. The time frame of “recent examination” is at the doctor’s discretion but will never exceed a maximum of one year from your pets’ last annual wellness examination. The written prescription will be provided directly to you.  Given that review of your pet's medical and prescription history is required for any prescription we require 48 hours notice (two full business days).  Please keep in mind your pet’s veterinarian may not be available over the weekend so this may increase the time needed to get approval.

 

We will issue you a hand written prescription. This prescription can then be taken or mailed to any pharmacy of your choosing.  We are unable to mail, fax or email written prescriptions.  Each pharmacy has their own policies as to how they process written prescriptions. Make sure to check with the pharmacy you plan on using in advance so there won’t be any lapse in medications if they require you to mail in the hand written prescription.  The only exception to this policy will be the prescriptions requiring a compounding pharmacy for specific medication formulations for your pet(s).
